                                              EXHIBIT 5 BONUSES

     The following is a complete list of Exhibit 5 bonuses that can included in any Entry Level Contract.  No bonuses other than the ones listed below or a “games played” bonuses may be included in an ELC; any “games played” bonuses is included in the maximum allowable salary for a player on an ELC.  The bonuses below constitute minimum standards; higher standards may be agreed to by the team and player if desired.  The maximum allowable payment for any “Schedule A” bonus is $212,500; the maximum allowable payment by a Club for “Schedule B” bonuses in the aggregate is $2 million.

SCHEDULE A BONUSES – FORWARDS

1.      Ice Time [aggregate or per game]:  Player must be among top six (6) forwards on the Club [minimum 42 Regular Season games played by Player and comparison group].  An Entry-Level SPC may contain a provision for both aggregate and per-game ice time; however, the maximum a player may earn for ice time bonuses is $212,500]

2.      Goals:  20 goal minimum

3.      Assists:  35 assist minimum

4.      Points:  60 point minimum

5.      Points per Game:  0.73 points per game [minimum 42 Regular Season games played]

6.      Plus-Minus Rating:  Among the top three (3) forwards on the Club [minimum 42 Regular Season games played by Player and comparison group]

7.      End of Season NHL All-Rookie Team

8.      NHL All-Star Game [selected to play or plays]

9.      NHL All-Star Game MVP

SCHEDULE A BONUSES – DEFENSE

6.      Plus-Minus Rating:  Among the top three (3) defensemen on the Club [minimum 42 Regular Season games played by Player and comparison group]

7.      Blocked Shots:  Among the top two (2) defensemen on the Club [minimum 42 Regular Season games played by Player and comparison group]

8.      End of Season NHL All-Rookie Team

9.      NHL All-Star Game [selected to play or plays]

10.   NHL All-Star Game MVP

SCHEDULE A BONUSES – GOALIES

1.    Minutes Played:  1,800 minute minimum

2.    GAA:  Player’s GAA ≤ median GAA of all goalies who played 25 or more Regular Season games; if there is an even number of these goaltenders, the median will be the average of the two middle values.  Player must play in at least 25 Regular Season games, with at least 30 minutes in each game*.

3.    Save%:  Player’s Save%  ≥ median Save% of all goalies who played 25 or more Regular Season games; if there is an even number of these goaltenders, the median will be the average of the two middle values.  Player must play in at least 25 Regular Season games, with at least 30 minutes in each game*

4.    Wins:  20 [Player must be goaltender of record and have played in at least 30 minutes in each game]

5.    Shutouts:  Player’s shutouts ≥ median number of shutouts of all goalies who played 25 or more Regular Season games; if there is an even number of these goaltenders, the median will be the average of the two middle values.  Player must play in at least 30 minutes in each game*.

6.    End of Season NHL All-Rookie Team

7.    NHL All-Star Game [selected to play or plays]

8.    NHL All-Star Game MVP

* if a Goaltender is replaced for an extra attacker, those minutes shall count

SCHEDULE B BONUSES - INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

    All players signed to an Entry-Level Contract is eligible for a bonus paid by the league in the amount shown below, even if the player's contract does not specify an award for any Exhibit 5 bonuses.  Payments made by the league do not count against a Club's Upper Limit, but do count against the Players Share for the purpose of determining escrow.  In addition to the stated amounts below, an ELC may contain a provision to pay a bonus to the Player for achieving any award or below.  There is no limit on the number of awards that may be specified in the contract.  There is no limit on the amount of "Schedule B" bonuses a player can earn that are payable by the league; the maximum a player may earn in "Schedule B" bonuses payable by the Club is $2 million in the aggregate, regardless of how many awards are achieved.

League Awards:  Teams may only negotiate bonuses for the Hart, Richard, Vezina, Jennings, Norris, Conn Smythe, and Selke awards; any award that the league creates in the future that is similar in stature may also be considered.
