Player Cap Numbers

If you want to know how much a player counts toward the salary cap for the current and future years, click on their team below.  Each team page also contains the buyout impacts for future years from players bought out in the summer of 2006 or 2007 (if applicable) and any cap hits due to recall waivers, non-payment of options, overages, or other such things.  Contract information is guaranteed to be correct signed to an NHL contract as of June 10, 2008 for all players (whether on entry-level contracts or not).

-- Performance bonuses for players who have them are located on the salary pages for each team.
-- Qualifying offers for all RFA's not taken to arbitration or otherwise signed to a contract will be listed until July 15.
-- If a player has reportedly signed an entry-level contract and he's not listed here, the details of his contract are currently unavailable and he will not be listed until those details become available.
-- Current rosters can now be found at The Hockey News and will no longer be maintained here.

EXPLANATION OF THE SYMBOLS AND COLORS

Red numbers indicates cap hits that apply due to buyouts, payments from non-renewal of options, overages from the prior season, or other items; they constitute dead cap space.

Purple numbers
indicates cap hits that count no matter what due to the "35 and older" clause.

Orange numbers indicate cap hits that are uncertain (but should be accurate to within $100).

WS - indicates the waiver status of a player.  (Y - must clear regular waivers to be assigned, N - exempt from waivers).  Does not tell anything about whether the player is subject to recall waivers!

RFA* - indicates that the player is arbitration-eligible at the expiration of the current contract.
